I am now programming some software by VB6. Will it be
possible that the production avaible in both Chinese and
English at the same time? Is there any special requirement
for the developping enviroment?

- I have a custom UserControl, which can have many sub class levelsderived from it. I want to be able to discover all the components atLoad time, but the only components I can see from the base classare the private components internal to the base class itself. WhatI want are ALL components for the entire class no matter how manylevels of sub-classing this particular control contains.I do not want to have to force the child classes to implement a methodso that the base class can get access to its components. Oo Design Question - Strongly Typed Arraylist
- I'm trying to figure out the "best" way to implement a strongly typedArrayList. Using inheritance is one approach. It has the advantage that Ionly have to write overrides for the Add method and indexer. There areproblems with this however. First the indexer "override" has a differentreturn type. This doesn't cause a compile time error, but using the indexerdoesn't seem to produce a properly typed expression. The Add override musthave an arg of type object so the method doesn't reflect the strongtyping -- until run time when the my hand coded type check is run. I'veadded an Add overload that uses a strongly typed arg, but the originalmethod still appears in the command completion popup.An alternative approach would be to use composition, but this requires thatI implement wrapper methods for all of the ArrayList methods that I want tomake available in the strongly typed ArrayList class.I think the latter (composition) approach provides the best solution interms of providing a truly strongly typed object, but am bothered by theneed for the "duplicate" methods.Is there another alternatives, suggestions?Thanks in advance,Bill

Problem: Class Library
- Hello,I am using Visual C# .net Standard and want to create a Class Library. However I am having some difficulty. I am following the directions to do so from Deitel's "C# How to Program" in Chapter 8.16 in which it says, "From the FILE menu, choose option NEW, follewed by PROJECT... In the NEW PROJECT dialog, ensure that C# PROJECTS is selected in the PROJECT TYPES section and click CLASS LIBRARY". That is where I am having an issue. There is no project type called "Class Library" listed as is described to select, even though I have selected C# Projects and have followed the directions as given. It is also not listed in any of the other project types. Has any one else had this problem, and is there a work around or solution, or is this what I get for buying the standard edition? I have checked for application updates, but I get the response that my application is up to date. Any help would be appreciated as I like having modular and reusable code. Uploading Large Files
- I'm creating a web page to upload files, but I'm having a problem uploadingfiles larger than about 3.5 mb. Anything smaller than 3.5 mb is ok. If thefile is larger, it doesn't generate an error, it just doesn't do anything.Can anyone show me how to fix that problem?I'm also trying to trap any files larger than 3.5 mb to let the user knowthat they can't upload files larger than that:If MyUpload.PostedFile.ContentLength > 3500000 then lblMessage.Text = "File size cannot exceed 3.5 mb limit"End IfBut if the file is 4 mb or bigger, that code doesnt' catch it. - Hi all,I'm having a little problem understanding the concepts of dynamicallyloading/unloading user conrols:1. If I have a couple of usercontrols embedded within a few tables cells onmy page, setting the usercontrol's visible to false still fires thePage_Load event. Isn't this unnecessary overhead when it doesn't even showin my page.2. For my usercontrols to be able to see one another's methods, do I have todefine the usercontrol within the code-behind of each usercontrol I wish toreference?3. To dynamically load/unload usercontrols, must I register them at leastwithin my page at design-time? This seems 'un-dynamic' to me.4. What method do I use to run code the first time my user control isdynamically loaded. I don't want to run the code again after that unless itis removed then re-loaded again.There clearly is much for me to learn about usercontrols. - I have come to understand that one of the great things about .Net is that managed code can work together. I am wondering on what level this is true. My scenario is the following:I have One solution and two projects, one in C#, one in VB.Net.I want to create a C# object in my VB.Net code. Intellisense does not see the C# object. Is it simply not seen or is it not available? By the way, I have tried going the other way around as well, that is creating a VB.Net object with C#. Same outcome. VB.Net creating a VB.Net object is no problem, intellisense and everything.Thanks for the help.

Crystal Shows All Records When Setting Datasource At Runtime V1.1
- I don't know if this has been addressed in some other form/forum butwe tried what we thought was everything. I apologize if i'm beingredundant.We build reports like so when they require passing parameters to limitthe results:One person develops the report layout using a view.The other person creates a datatable at runtime from a stored proccall. The stored proc uses the same view that was used to design thereport. They then assign the datatable to the report datasource andthe report to a viewer.Why? Not sure. I just like things compartmentalized I guess.Anyway, this all worked great... until we deployed it. The reportswould ignore the results from the stored proc call and just alwaysreturn ALL results from the base view.It worked on our dev machines but refused to work on any client configwe could find (aside from installing the .NET component update CD onall the client machines. not an option)For those of you that are trying something similar and find the reportdisplays ALL the design time datasource's results instead of thosefrom the run time datasource when deployed to the client...Deploy these Visual C++ runtimes files into your app's directory:msvcp70.dllmsvcr70.dllcrystal will find them and the run-time datasource will start working.(RE: crystal.net deployment: wasn't something said about "no-moredll-hell with .NET"? funny thing, i never experienced it until .NET)

- I have Index Server searching a directory of HTML files. I have set a few custom META tags in these HTML files so that these tags show up in the index searcher properities, so I get an entry like:d1b5d3f0-c0b3-11cf-9a92-00a0c908dbf1 adxeffectivedate [no friendly name] VT_LPWSTR 4 SecondaryWhen setting up the search in c# I specify the column name which is the friendly name, when I right click and do a properities, I can not set the friendly name. I have stopped and started the service and played with what is there. How do I either set the friendly name or select the property without the friendly name?-Cam

- I would like to do a search and have the results sorted by property 1 and then by property 2. My first thought had been//set up the searching object and call it oSearchoSearch.Sort.PropertyName = "Property1,Proptery2";but that was unhappy. I can do aoSearch.Sort.PropertyName = "Property1";oroSearch.Sort.PropertyName = "Property2";without issue but I can not figure out how to do what I need. I took a look at the System.DirectoryServices.SortOption and it doesn't seem to do anything new either. I am dealing with a fairly large result set so I REALLY do not want to have to do a sort myself after I get the results.Thanks.-Cam
